The Project

The aim of our project is to ensure that learners of all ages are aware of the climate crisis in formal and non-formal education, gain information about sustainability and encourage more environmentally responsible behaviors. There are 5 trillion plastic bags used,6 trillion cigarette butts thrown away,2 billion tons of garbage produced annually in the world. We throw away more than 90% of what we buy within 6 months.50% of plastic waste consists of disposable products.80% of the waste in the seas originates from land and 70% consists of disposable bags. Everything we throw into the environment remains in nature for hundreds of years. Waste poisons water and soil, threatening our food supplies. To date, a total of 8.3 billion tons of plastic has been produced in the world and 88% of this amount is still in the world. We continue to add 300 million plastics to this
amount every year. We aim to reduce this percentage by learning about the common problems of our world and our future, discussing them, thinking about the local actions to be taken, and finding alternative green ways to carry out the activities. Though these problems, which pollute the environment, reduce living resources, and negatively affect the living life and society, are seen as local problems, they grow and cause global problems. In addition, animals dying from deforestation, overhunting or pollution also cause the ecological balance of the world to deteriorate. Creating a healthy environment for future generations and ensuring that individuals are sensitive to the environment are among our most important duties and responsibilities.
